Famed blind pianist Ableton, known for radio and concert fame, is pictured at the Royal Alexandra hotel in Winnipeg during a three day stay as part of a concert tour across western Canada.
The Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire purchases 34 prints of Royal Tour In South Africa for Rural Canada circuits reaching about 250,000 viewers. After exhibitions, prints will be donated to Community Film Libraries. The film opens on Manitoba National Film Board circuits February 9.

President E J Tarr KC reported 1947 saw record new business and a 50 percent rise in business in force versus three years prior. The company added reserves against pre 1943 business and boosted surplus to 1 181 236. Investment reserves were set at 3 000 000 with a 50 000 increase for unreported policies.
