John Gordon Dies in Séth Year

John Gordon of Portage la Prairie and formerly Beaver District died Monday. Born in Rosshire in 1694, he came to Canada with his parents in 1904. Funeral services are Thursday from McKilop's Funeral Home with burial in Beaver Cemetery Portage.

Beloved MacGregor Mother Ida Merrick Dies Suddenly

Residents of MacGregor mourn the sudden death of Ida Elizabeth Merrick age 82 after 58 years in town. She was active until a few hours before passing. Funeral held at St Pauls Anglican Church on Wednesday. family all in attendance. A full obituary will follow.

Portage Village Sets 1950 Budget Plans and Appointments

Village council held a Monday session with Mayor W H Montgomery presiding. They reviewed summer improvements and bridge repairs for the 1950 budget, approved 234.40 for the Portage Health Unit, appointed H R Ende & Co as 1950 assessor for 180 dollars plus expenses, and adjourned to March 13 with finances settled.

Ladies Bonspiel Set With Several Teams Entering

Popular Young Couple Wed In Portage

Wedding vows were exchanged February 7 at St Marys Ang An Churen Portage la Prairie with Canon P C Bays uniting Mildred Constance Rowlatt of Austin Manitoba and Will Intech Roberts of MacGregor Manitoba. The bride wore a grey gabardine suit with wine accessories and a matching hat. Attendant Mrs G C Fotheringham wore a wine suit with pink carnations. The couple left for Fort Francis Ontario and will reside in Portage la Prairie on return.
