Local notices announce a Tuesday town diary of events in MacGregor and district. Fraternal dances and teas are scheduled for February 10th 12th and 13th at various venues with performances by the Palmer Orchestra and local clubs.
Miss Bertha Merrick of Bran ts is spending a holiday in town. Miss Wood of WI visiting for a few weeks. Mrs. Woodin ipeg is her. Mrs. Joseph Wells of Katrime spent the past week in town with sister Mrs. S. Fleming. The next meeting of St. Pauls W A will be at Mrs. W Burrows home on Wednesday afternoon February 10.
The annual meeting at St Pat's Church was held January 28 in the Masonic Hall with solid attendance. Vestry reports and notes from the Women’s Auxiliary, Girls Auxiliary, and Sunday School were praised, while renovation costs for the Rectory were discussed. Officers elected for 1926 include Rector’s Warden J.G.E. Lewin, Peoples’ Warden T. Rowan, and vestrymen A.F. Palmer, F. Southworth, F. Sims, P. Tempias, H. Merrick, F.C. Borton, C. Hering, John Stewart, and H.A. Lye. A musical program closed the meeting, and a gift from the Women’s Auxiliary was acknowledged.
The Gregor Curling Club hosts its annual bonspiel starting Monday and running four to five days with four competitions and about two dozen rinks. Teams from Sidney and Beaver join local entries, prizes donated by many firms on display, refreshments served, and four sheets of ice arranged by Manager MacDonald. An inviting, friendly week is planned for visitors, with the Ladies Club event to follow, entries taken with two hosts named Mrs Fraser and Mrs R D Muir.
Mrs W J Moore of Edrans and Mrs Hamblin of Quippelle Kansas visited in town last week with Mr and Mrs James Moore and attended the Orangemen At Home event.
The United Church announces Sunday events on February 7 with Sunday School at 11 a.m. and a service at 3 p.m. The verse or variant Sunday School is listed for 2 p.m.
Anglican Church schedule for Sunday February 7 at MacGregor includes Holy Communion at 8 30 p.m. Sunday School and Bible Class at 1 00 p.m. Evening Service at 3 00 p.m. Services listed with standard parish timing and activity blocks.
