The retailer urges rapid buys before spring stock arrives, selling winter mittens, moccasins, and Christmas toys at big discounts to free up space. They tout room for spring goods, warn of rising wheat prices, and offer farms for sale or rent plus village properties.
The Dominion government signed a contract with McKenzie and Mann to build a narrow gauge railway about 150 miles from the Stikine river to Teslin lake. The deal includes steamers for freight and passenger transport to Dawson, staged fare reductions over ten years, a 25 million acre gold bearing land grant, a 1 percent royalty to the government, a winter road by March, and BC cash subsidies of 2,500 per mile. Critics call the land grant excessive and the terms potentially unfavorable.

Eastbound trains from McGregor depart 5 00 a m for Winnipeg 7 50 a m and the Local from McGregor leaves 7 45 p m arriving Winnipeg 10 35 p m. Through express connects with branch lines except Emerson. No mail or express goes east of Winnipeg Fridays or from east of Winnipeg Tuesdays.
