Entomologists from Canada’s Department of Agriculture research station forecast a fivefold rise in grasshopper numbers in 1968, infesting about three times the area. The outbreak covers Neepawa to Stephenfield, with two severe pockets near Austin and St Claude, and light damage to cereals expected as food limits arrivals.
