Rev L J Adams urges focus on the true spirit of Christmas over decorations and gifts as war stretches nationwide. He reflects on Mary and Joseph in the stable and Christ’s entry to redeem mankind, hoping for peace and good will to prevail.
A seasonal message from Wm Cairns extends good will and wishes Peace on Earth and success in 1942 to all recipients.
The 1941 North Norfolk Council met in MacGregor on December 18 with all members present. Key actions authorize blackout arrangements in MacGregor Austin and Bagot, grant 40 dollars to the Manitoba Voluntary Reserve for drill hall fuel, and approve Old Age Pension applications for Mrs. Christina Williams and Adelaide Cheney. By‑laws sale of land for 100 dollars and tax cancellation were passed, and 4917.69 was paid to the Municipal Commissioners levy. A 100 dollar grant to Reeve Duff was approved. 1000 dollars to the Lord Mayor's Fund and 100 dollars to the Milk For Britain Fund were allocated from War Services. A pen and pencil set was presented to Councillor Geo. Hotel. The next meeting is January 6, 1942.
