Co op Opens New Addition In Austin Area
The Austin Co op officially opened a newly renovated east end addition to the former service station last Tuesday with strong attendance. The expansion adds a larger line of farm supplies to serve Austin and nearby districts. Attendees included Harold Brown and Portage la Prairie Co op officials who praised the upgrade, noting the history of the Austin Co op dating back to 1947 and its amalgamation with Portage in 1957. The ribbon was cut by John Gilmour with Jaeger and Dankesreiter assisting. Coffee and donuts followed, and staff listed include Ken Smith and Jack Sattler among others.
