The Manitoba province announces that 1951 motor vehicle licences and tabs are now available. Licence renewals can be processed by mail order for the first time, with 1951 registrations requiring a Motor Vehicle Branch letter. Car owners with 1950 or defaced plates may replace at a dollar by surrendering old numbers.

Portage Carberry Sunday School Institute Meets Here
The first Sunday School Institute for the Portage Carberry area met at MacGregor United Church on December 6 with forty delegates from Por ge Meddonald Edwin Bagot MacGregor Austin and Sidney. Opening worship was led by the Austin School and Dr Clarke of Portage welcomed delegations and outlined the institute goals. The afternoon covered teaching methods visual aids and classroom challenges with Dr Clarke stressing knowing the pupils. A pot luck supper and a musical program followed before a meeting set up an area board to plan a larger institute in Austin in spring. Evening sessions featured Dr Clarke on practical methods for an effective Sunday School and Rev Shaver on the teacher s spiritual role with the child.
