The MacGregor Herald records its publication in February 1697 at the Herald Printing Office MacGregor Manitoba. Ottawa A. M. Shaw is listed as publisher and printer with weekly Thursday issues and a $200 in USA note.
The North Norfolk electorate voted on Repeal of Retention of Local Option within municipal borders. The Herald avoided editorial stance and published two letters pro and con while withholding four more. The paper chose to let the issue drop for now, citing Christmas and higher priorities.

The ceremony took place November 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Portage United Church in Rosetta, with the bride, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L Duncan, marrying W. R. Stoneman, son of Mr. and Mrs. R Stoneman of Portage la Prairie. Officiant Rev. Allen W. Martin. The bride wore a grey wool suit with pink blouse and a yellow tea rose corsage. Best man was Mr. B. Dutch. reception followed at the Stoneman home. The couple plans a short honeymoon in Brandon and will reside in Portage la Prairie.
