Portage la Prairie Museum Seeks City Aid
A Portage la Prairie museum committee sought financial help from the city council, hoping for a $1,000 grant for 1975 and $3,000 in 1976 to sustain the museum complex. The deficit plagued the $22,500 budget as admissions fell short, and 290 grant requests yielded only 27 replies. The rural municipality already contributes, with an original $1,000 rising to $3,000 annually, while council debates spending and control.
