For ratepayers in Weld the meeting will be at the Masonic hall Mac Gregor next Monday night December six with Reeve Shawan or Turner present. Voters will be given a chance to address the meeting on the prospect of municipal office. If you care about your district attend.
The Municipal Act discussion outlines forming MacGregor into an Unincorporated Village with a three member committee for local management. The plan excludes specific land parcels and shifts certain tax and governance powers from councillors to the committee, with annual retirements and audits to the Council each October.
A public meeting is being called for Tuesday evening at the Municipal Hall to discuss the whole question.
In Cornwall Ontario, Mr W J Elliott searched for his horse and riderless horse noted as missing after a month in the district. Reeve Shaw traveled with a companion to Winnipeg. Dr J Re Jouns, Union Church pastor, received an invitation to pastor Arch Moose Jaw Silk, a large Western Canada town.
The Britannia Chapter reports packing and sending knitted socks to the Red Cross Society. Members Mrs. Ben Richardson and Mrs. Geo Moffatt donated pairs, and a bake sale with jams and jellies is planned for a Tuesday meeting at 5 p.m. Proceeds aid the Convalescent Soldiers Home in Winnipeg. Volunteers are asked to donate jam or jelly by December 10.
Christ Church Austin hosts a 7 pm Sunday service with S Pauls MacGregor at 11 am and Sunday School at 2 30 pm. Incumbent BA Littler presides and other clergy listed. All welcome to attend the Sabboth School and Mission activities at 2 30 pm.
