Norfolk No 2 Agricultural Society schedules a two day fair on Thursday and Friday October 3 and 4. All exhibits except livestock must be in the hall by six on the first day. Officials aim to implement the new prize list adopted in 1907 with minor changes.
Dense smoke over the city and nearby towns sparked fears of wider fires. Reports claim Portage la Prairie and Brandon were affected, with a prairie fire near Hashned threatening surrounding districts. No farm damages confirmed yet, while text notes optimistic crop reports from MackGregor and nearby areas amid varied conditions.
Crop reporter Mr Richard Waugh of the Winnipeg Free Press spent Wednesday in the district. He was driven by Mr D B White manager of the Merchants Bank here through the countryside, pleased with the crop prospects. The vat crop o2 remains a point of discussion among locals.
