Slight Increase Seen In Duck Population

Washington AP reports the interior department forecasts moderate increases in duck numbers for fall hunts across the Pacific Central and Mississippi flyways with a small rise in the Atlantic. The gains are relative to 1962 flights, which were themselves below 1960 and mid-1950s levels. Daniel Janzen notes this better outlook complicates 1963 64 hunting regulation decisions while W F Crisley cites drought relief possibly aiding recovery as he urges a larger breeding population to sustain two million hunters.
