Springbrook Garden Club Attends Portage Rally
Springbrook Jolly Gardeners attended the Portage 4H Rally for vegetable judging where Rosemary Lowe won second, Dennis Lewis third, Ferne Bull fourth, and Gilbert Lowe eighth. Dennis Lewis took first in judging. Ferne Bull and Allan Lewis tied for second and Gilbert Lews placed third. An evening meeting at Springbrook School featured a judging fest and remarks by Rev Nicholson. Achievement Day is set for August 17 at MacGregor Memorial Hall with open public viewing later.

A shower in the Community Hall on August 7 honored Miss Ardeth Swanton, a bride elect for August 11. After a tie contest, Mrs. C. Rogers led a sing song. Mrs. H Lintott pinned a corsage on Miss Swanton and Mrs. M Ham pinned one on Mrs Swanton, then escorted them to chairs before a bank of flowers.
