Little Prospect of Bread Price Drops Amid Wheat Decline
Government reports note bread costs will not fall despite wheat price drops. Flour makes a small portion of loaf costs and wheat cuts scarcely affect flour prices. Canada holds about 90 million bushels of wheat for flour in 1968-69, with exports exceeding 10 million hundredweights in 1967-68. Domestic wheat prices in Winnipeg show small declines, unlikely to significantly lower household bread prices.
