Wheat price increase urged by prairie pools in Ottawa
Prairie wheat pools asked the Dominion Government to set the initial price at 1.00 a bushel for No 1 Northern Fort William wheat and to hold July 31 1941 carryover stocks as a national emergency war reserve. They urged all August 1 sales to apply to the 1941 42 crop year and to declare the year an emergency under the Prairie Farm Assistance Act.
