Harvesting Begins as Reports, Town News Highlight Canada
This week reports show harvesting starting with binder work and good crop prospects. Art Stevenson returned from Regina with his new home on wheels on its maiden trip, noting rough spots and slippery roads. A model T mishap on a bridge caused a half ton loss of cribbing, while eight miles sparked a debate over its length in steps and jumps. Bill Doucette fractured his elbow lifting a sugar sack, now healing. Gerry Cobbe stars for Carman Cardinals in two top games, with corrections about his origin. Town vacancies fill, new residents move in, and a council plan to tear down the old fire bell tower after many historic alarms. A 1816 George II shilling, carried by J D McIntyre, could be a collector’s prize.
