Fitting tribute paid W B Gilroy
W B Gilroy longtime Gladstone area resident and farmer died after illness in MacGregor area. He helped found a local creamery, held public posts, and survived by his widow and several children across Manitoba and Winnipeg. His death marks a loss to MacGregor and North Norfolk communities.
Longtime community figure remembered in funeral tribute
Thirty eight years ago he became the first secretary of the Tocal Agricultural Society and served until his death. A charter member of Temple Lodge AF and a former Ward Two Councillor, he held the office of Police Magistrate for years. He contributed to the Towns Commission and supported soldiers during the Great War, aiding memorial efforts and local improvements. His funeral at Union Church to MacGregor Cemetery drew many, with Rev T B Pearson officiating and ex-pastors aiding. The church remained crowded before services.

Fraternal Lodge Members Honor Departed Brother at Cemetery
Temple Lodge members and brethren from Gladstone and Astin formed a procession for a funeral service. Officers performed rites at the cemetery with wreaths from War Veterans and local chapters. A large crowd from multiple lodges attended the ceremony and graveside rites.

The death occurred at Hartney last week of the Rev. R. O. Armstrong a well known Methodist minister who only left High abort month ago. He had taken his church in the pulpit there just months ago and served as minister. A large number of friends express sorrow at his passing.
