Portage la Prairie Welcomes Canada's New Premier Meighen
A large crowd estimated at about ten thousand greeted Prime Minister Arthur Meighen in Portage la Prairie on Monday. A parade from the CPR to Tela Park led to a luncheon with 250 attendees including Manitoba's reeves and mayors, the lieutenant governor, provincial premier and others. Meighen urged unity to solve current problems and pressed for greater understanding and cooperation among all classes.
