In August a great army of Canadians over 16 will register to answer questions. The aim is unified effort for victory in wartime. More planes, tanks, ammo, money, and trained home defence are required. Register early, read the questions, and be ready to answer to support total war.
Trade Minister MacKinnon announced continuation of the 70 cent wheat price and new measures under Canada's 1940 wheat policy. The plan adds a 15 cent per bushel domestic processing tax to bolster the Wheat Board and restore prices, while allowing farmers to deliver only part of their crop to the board amid war-related market disruptions. The tax takes effect immediately and applies to existing futures contracts, without changing bread retail prices.
