Garden Sowing Rules From Garden Notes By Gordon Lindsay Smith
Garden notes advise that most seeds for flowers and vegetables should be sown in May or June in Canada to avoid frost. Do not plant seeds too deep or too thickly and space large flowers eight inches to a foot apart while small blooms need only a few inches. For tiny seeds mix with fine sand and press lightly for even germination.
