North Norfolk Legion Holds May Meetings and Subscriptions

The North Norfolk District Canadian Legion announces a May 7 meeting at 8 p.m. in Turner's Confectionery and mentions a May 21 Victoria Day sports event. Brigades are appointed to solicit subscriptions for magazines from My Publishing Co including Maclean's Chatelaine Argosy and others. Mothers at Banquet Hosted by United rch C.G.1T

The United GCHC or likely church group held a Daughter Mother banquet at Orange Hall on Friday April 20. About fifty attendees enjoyed a lavish meal with blue and yellow decor and daffodils. A toast list and program followed, concluding with Auld Lang Syne thanking Miss Parr and the girls for organizing the event.

Waling and Seating Fees Notice from Curling Club

The Secretary of Kreger Curling Club requests payment of all outstanding leg and seating fees by April 1. An annual meeting will be held at the rink on Tuesday, May 4 at 7 pm.

Mr and Mrs Nelson Smith traveled to Treherne on Sunday to attend the funeral of the late Mrs David Hird, noted as an old timer of the province. Friends extend deepest sympathy to the family in their bereavement.

The Secretary of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba in Brandon says the 1934 prizelist has been revised and will be ready for distribution early next month. A copy may be obtained from Rettie in Brandon.
