Mobile Home Numbers On The Rise In Canada
CMHTA executive vice president Frank Young reports mobile homes now total about one fifth of new detached housing starts in Canada. Domestic production rose 26 percent from 20 334 in 1972 to 25 696 in 1973, while U.S. imports fell 19 percent to 3 798 in 1973. He cautions tighter money could limit gains and notes US shipments drop early 1974, with Canada possibly holding its own. Conventional housing starts may level off and fall below 1974 figures.
