Why A Campaign For Central Manitoba Children’s Aid
Charles R. Fraser, Executive Director, explains why the Children’s Aid Society of Central Manitoba conducts annual fall canvasses for funds. He notes the budget needs about 120000 yearly, with 18000 raised privately to balance, since municipal grants total around 3500. Canvasses support a multi-area quota system planned months ahead, and grants are only partial support for welfare costs.

Corn Advised For The South West Region
Government officials advise planting corn in southern Manitoba this spring as a summerfallow substitute or in widely spaced rows. It also provides wind shelter and snow trapping benefits in fallowed fields, with recommended silage varieties Morden 74 and Falener.
