Norquay Wheat Withdrawn From High Grade Eligibility
The Department of Agriculture announced withdrawal of Norquay wheat effective August 1. After that date Norquay will be eligible for no higher than Number 3 Canada Utility. Farmers are advised to deliver Norquay grain or seed before August 1 to retain full Canada Utility grades. Norquay, a hard white spring wheat, differs from red spring wheat, and its agronomic performance prompted the Canada Committee on Grain Breeding to recommend withdrawal.
