Ilfracombe Shire Council Seeks Equipment Upgrades
At the last monthly meeting the Ilfracombe Shire Council directed the Clerk to query Longreach Motor Co Ltd about extension wheels for the tractor and whether they can be fitted on site. They also asked for a blade for the grader and the cost of a 30cwt Chevrolet truck to replace the current Ford tip truck. Copies of the overseer’s report to be sent to Councillors before the July meeting. A Longreach car accident on Kirst Street prompted calls to restrict fast driving in town. Stock movements are listed, including numerous flocks and cattle routes into Ilfracombe and surrounding stations.
