Concert at Hampstead Wells and broad royal ban on imports
At Seneca's Head near Somer set-house a concert is announced for Monday the 15th with Jemmy Bowen and two violin masters, tickets a shilling, dancing to follow at Hampstead Wells. A new description of Spain and Portugal is offered at Poole's Half Moon with various works and a heavy royal proclamation forbids many English imports from November to protect domestic goods and raise duties.
