Dutch Privateer and French Prize Reports From Belmouth
From Belmouth a Dutch privateer entered the port with a French prize of 250 tun burden and fish from Newfoundland. The French admiral’s Exeter also brought a 40 tun prize with fish. Reports mention Plymouth receiving the Prosperity of Amsterdam from Barbary with wool, gun, almonds, and a small French ship from Marseilles in ballast. Multiple ships and transports persist in the dockyard.
