War News and Diplomatic Proposals from August Reports
Reports from various front and diplomatic circles reveal reinforced armies near Landau and Merlo with French advances feared, while Catinat strengthens garrisons. The Cantons debate the Spanish Succession, and a sweeping peacemaking plan among Sweden, Poland, Saxony, and Muscovy circulates, with royal resignations and territorial reassignments proposed. London notes fresh executions and political actions as August unfolds.
