Paris Opera Premiere Noted for Fitzstein's Blind Composer

In Paris on August 30 a new opera by the blind composer Fitzstein, famed for mastery of violin, mandoline, and viola, draws public admiration for his musical ear. His abilities follow from hearing pieces once or twice. Meanwhile Mr. de la Place, author of a long-published Mercury, has recently vanished from public view.

Publication ban on Utrecht Gazette and Lord Holland’s market moves

Yesterday's mail reports a six week prohibition on the French Utrecht Gazette due to home paragraphs offending France. Lord Holland is said to have bought over 160,000 pounds in three percent stock to push prices, planning to pay government with government funds and save about thirteen percent. Prosecutions are ordered against a Fleet Street tradesman aiding Heyder Ali and arms shipments to the Canaries. A new dock at Woolwich is begun for the East India Company with various ship movements noted and multiple local deaths and incidents across London and Ireland. In finance, the East India Company outlines large outgoings and anticipated revenues, with auctions scheduled for estates in St Ives and surrounding areas.
