Letter on the Law of Nations in European Commerce

Seizure Ship Flees to Ireland and Attack in Dublin

In Poolbegg the vessel fled after seizure by Revenue Officers. The crew faced forfeiture as the master sailed away, choosing distance over confrontation. Later in Dublin, Aug 28, Christopher Flemming ale draper and his wife were attacked in Thomas Street by three men who injured him from ear to throat and wounded his wife, endangering her hands.

Death of Lord President Robert Dundas of Arniston
