In Sterling the Hon Mr James Ereskine of Grange was chosen Lord Provost. In Dundee John Donaldsson Esq was re elected Provost. The Earl of Stair returned from Treland.
Portmouth reports a squadron of ships at Spithead led by Rear-Admiral Cavendish including Namur Princes Caroline Buckingham Oxford Princess of Orange Elizabeth Lenox Graf ton Sunderland Centurion Superb Portland Ruby Success and King George Packer with captains Faulkingham Griffen Piercey Girlington Davies etc. Also notes Mayoralty change in Bristol with William Jefferies ending his term and Stephen Clutterbuck becoming mayor along with sheriffs Michael Beecher and David Dehany.
