Postscript from the London Evening Post lists rebel officers captured at Carlisle and York in 1745 amid the Jacobite rising. It names Colonel Townley and many captains, lieutenants, and ensigns from Lancashire, Cheshire, Aberdeenshire, and other counties, plus 93 noncommissioned rebels and 256 more officers. It notes executions at Kennington Common and Tower Hill, and cites broader sentences for numerous rebels including Lords and lairds.
The London Evening Post notes that the Mayor and Recorder’s address for Lancaster fails to reflect truth. It accuses the document of deceiving the Crown, ensnaring the Ministry, and inflaming the nation across his Majesty's dominions, asking for publication through the paper.
The author denounces ministerial tactics against England and praises generalship in Boston. He laments tax intrigues and press manipulation, asserts Americans act with Congress, and defends Gage while blaming Westminster for war choices. He contrasts royal misrule with potential imperial salvation through prudent leadership.
