Felton Appointed Deputy Secretary to Lord Chancellor Ireland

Ireland. Dublin. 27. Obert Felton, Esq., is made Deputy Secretary to His Excellency the Lord Newport, Lord High Chancellor of Ireland, replacing Samuel Whyte, Esq., deceased. Rathdrum, Wicklow reports a night of intense rain and thunder with lightning striking near Crongburn Wood and casting bark from a great tree. Dublin city shares the lightning but without thunder, followed by heavy showers.

Death of Hercules Baker of Hythe and Greenwich

Hercules Baker of Hythe and Greenwich, aged elder navy officer and Treasurer of the Royal Hospital at Greenwich, died at his town house yesterday morning. He left the Parliament seat to Hythe, died childless, and his substantial fortune passes to his relations. His real estate goes to his nephew Thomas Baker, Esq, a naval lieutenant.
