From Aberdeen on May 17 Sir Arthur Forbes MP was met by a large assembly of leading merchants and burgesses who thanked him and hosted an entertainment for presenting their petition against the Convention. Last Tuesday the Lords of the Treasury appointed Simon Patrick Solicitor of His Majesty's Customs at a salary of 3000 per year in the room of Oliver Parker who recently inherited a large estate after the death of Lord Reynolds.
