London News: Bishop Appointments and Royal Marriage Festivities
Reports from London detail the appointment of Rev. Dr. Gilbert as Bishop of Llandaff and Dr. Alured Clarke as Dean of Exeter, with political maneuvering for Knights of the Shire in Huntingdon and Bedford. A grand St James's Drawing-Room marks the marriage contract between Princess Mary and the Prince of Hesse, including ceremonial processions, dignitaries, and royal supper. Discreet mentions of naval movements, court appointments, and local incidents accompany the ball, bells, and public rejoicing.
