Odd Norwich racing program includes two purses of fifty pounds each for horses mares or geldings. Races set for the week of Whidun with heats four miles per race. Entries close seven days before May 18 with conditions for weights and entry fees.
In Surrey at Epsom the fifth day of May opens a schedule of plates. The First Plate offers sixty Guineas for horses, mares or geldings carrying twelve stone. The Second and Third Plates each offer fifty pounds with conditions on age and prior winnings. The Fourth and Fifth Plates also carry fifty pounds with weight limits. Subscriptions are due at Epsom stables fourteen days before race day. Entry requires two guineas per plate, with restrictions on carrying horses and a royal exception for the Prince of Wales’s charge.
