Shipwise mutiny and Bermuda atrocity recounted

From Bermuda we hear of a sloop from Antigua bound for North Carolina driven ashore in distress. The crew mutinied over starvation after doctors and sailors were killed and cast overboard then the captain hid in the hold. One seaman died ashore, others escaped, and the crew’s ruthlessness ended with a brief period of calm aboard.ាក

107 year old Robertson dies in West Kirk workhouse

Edinburge June 18. Alexander Robertson aged 107 years died last week in the charity work-house in the West Kirk parish. In a bet among youths, a man vowed to recite Hamlet Prince of Denmark in full from memory without a single deviation, a feat he reportedly achieved, impressing onlookers who then quadrupled the wager for the night’s entertainment.
