A 1775 pledge on corruption and ministerial night men
The writer condemns laced coats as knavish tokens and argues a distinction between worthy opponents of corruption and the tools of the ministry. He likens Night-men to a band of Afechanifa playing ministerial tunes for diversion, condemns sycophants as traitors, and questions whether American resistance would aid or harm English liberty. Dated June 5, 1775.
