Merchants sail for Rio de Janeiro and Beta
From the London Gazette Lisbon July 1 reports 19 merchant ships bound for Rio de Janeiro and Pará sailing under convoy of three men of war. New governors of Pernambuco Pará and Martinique aboard. Count da Cunha as vice royalty of the Brazils not yet departed. Also near Bremen and Hamburg dispatches, audiences, and European diplomatic movements noted.
