Two Bourdeaux Vessels Detained by Governor
News from Edinburgh reports that two Bourdeaux ships unloading tobacco were unrigged and held by the governor until four merchant-ships with provisions sailed. Afterward they were allowed to rig and sail, while the French fleet had only two frigates for convoy. Also, the Christian Rutherford arrived at Leith from Konigsberg with flax and was taken off St Abb's Head and ransomed for 500 guineas.
