Paris Letter on Spanish Trade Project and English Mediation

The July 3 letter discusses Count de la Marck presenting a plan to promote Trade and Navigation in the Gulph of Mexico and New Spain. If adopted it would push the English South Sea Company toward resolving differences with Madrid. The Earl of Waldegrave returns from Compiegne with British ultimatums and fresh dispatches to Madrid, while several English Lords head home. France’s reply tests Britain’s view of mediation amid ongoing European tensions.
