Fires at the Custom-house prompt new taxes and duties

From the Loxpon Gate ETree E. Lifoon June 19 reports a large rubbish-filled find at the Custom-house including whalebone hides damaged goods and sugar with an eight thousand pound value. Authorities prepare a new Custom-house and reimpose export duties on whalebone after the fire.

Embassador entertains nobles at St James's Square

Thursday the Embassador from the court of Vienna hosted a grand entertainment at his house in St James's Square for several nobles and foreign ministers. Lord Warkworth married Lady Ann Stuart by the Archbishop of Armagh. Hon. Algernon Percy appeared in a rich tuff suit of Irish manufacture.
