Remarkable Fire Threatens Avon Street Building
An extraordinary blaze broke out in a newly built house on Avon Street in the King's Meads during floods. Sacks of stone lime near a wain scotted partition caught fire as waters rose, threatening to engulf the entire street without timely aid. In Dover at the Pier, Mr. Walker the butcher killed a sheep weighing thirty two and a half pounds. The carcass total weighed fifty pounds with little fat. The sheep was young with two lambs teeth.
