Naval action near Martinico disrupts French trade
From Antigua a Boston Gazette Extra reports Admiral Townshend with twelve warships and the Comet Bomb blockading St. Pierre in Martinico. The fleet has seized two French prizes and ferried 350 Martinique slaves to warships. A Martinique privateer under Ballanky was sunk near the fleet after a failed escape, with losses and scarce provisions noted aboard.
