Grand Fury for the County of Cornwall 1740 Assembly
The document reports a grand jury assembly at Bodmin and Stafford with extensive lists of gentlemen and a pledge to oppose corruption. It notes notable attendees, speeches urging limits on placemen, and scrutiny of royal expenditures. It also covers marriages, court actions, a court martial acquittal, weathered notices, ship captures, and stock market figures. The tone remains staunchly colonial and parliamentary.
