London Mizilla Review of West Regiment Parade at Pentonville Fields
The West Regiment was reviewed by order of the Commission of Lieutenancy at Pentonville Fields. Their precision and order in maneuvers and firing pleased the court. Afterwards a circle formed, with praise from Counsel Randle Jackson and a gift of ten guineas. A distasteful affray near Ballibay, Ireland, left several soldiers and locals dead or gravely wounded. Disturbances prompted light dragoons from Armagh to intervene. Daly funds a Dublin theatre benefit for starving manufacturers, aided by the Duchess of Leinster. In Dubko five parishes count 14 076 indigent residents. Williamson, formerly of Haymarket, now runs a Bolton theatre. Powell, linked to Gavent-Garden Theatre, has friends backing a rival theatre. Miss Fennerelle appears at Williamson’s theatre as Mrs Williamson.
