Letters from Paris and London recount naval build ups, campaigns, and the growing conflict in Brabant as Bathiani and Molk advance with artillery and regiments toward the Rhine front.
Belfast reports from March 25 describe 1000 Rebels entrenched about a mile from Fort William commanded by Stapleton with Cameron of Bécheyl and Clanronald among chiefs. The garrison of regulars and Argyllshire men claim courage as the Duke of Cumberland plans to march. provisions suffice for over three weeks. Also noted are 1000 sacks of sand and a regiment of foot to reinforce the fort, and St John Noble’s death at Derryree.

Described as a noble, extensive building with malt house and rope-walk skills, plus officer quarters and lodgings. Ground given by Lewis XIV in 1666. Fire reportedly left only ashes. a sense of complete looting accompanies the wreck.
