Arrival of Vice-President von Mellendorff at Fusan in 1883
Minutes after dropping anchor the Vice-President Herr von Mellendorff and his suite arrived by steamer chartered to the Korean Government. The British flag vessel entered Fusan on October 5 1883. Customs commissioners Lovatt and Wright and Shanghai merchants arrived aboard the Ningpo from Jenchuan. The Vice-President was rowed to the landing and visited the Custom-house before leaving for Seoul on a Mitsubishi steamer.
