Reports through Oct 21 via Tokio and Yokohama outline growing support in official circles for a 1890 world’s fair in Tokyo with plans varying by site. Ueno would require five million yen, Shiba two million yen. The third meeting of Norra Cama Insurance shareholders was held at the company offices on October 26. Chairman E H Lavers noted the balance sheet showed income higher by 45,000 but heavy losses with 205,000 added and 200,000 more claims pending. The 298,000 credited amounted to 20,000 above last year. Shipping disasters hurt results. a further payment from Oriental Bank Corporation reduced outstanding to 10,000, with hopes to recover soon. The 1884 account showed a balance due to the company.
